Yavapai County Animal Control

The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office Animal Control section consists of 7 officers and an Animal Control Sergeant. Animal Control Officers handle calls for service involving domestic animals, primarily dogs, for animal noise, dog at large violations, and statute required dog licenses.Other animal types (ie.. cats, horses or livestock), are handled by individual case by case needs and state statues or local regulations.

Additional areas of service are: animal poisonings, rabies control involving animal bites to humans, aggressive animals, and animal welfare, with regard to neglect and cruelty.

Loose dogs are impounded and sheltered at one of the locations listed below, which also includes dogs being held for safekeeping for a limited time. A pet that has been impounded or quarantined may be reclaimed by paying all appropriate fees to the shelter.
